Quick Facts
Location & Demographics

First Baptist Church of Trussville is located 17 miles northeast of Birmingham, Alabama. The city of Trussville has a population of approximately 12,000. The median age of the city of Trussville is 38 and the median age at FBCT is 39.

History
FBC Trussville was born July 14, 1821 led by nine men with Elder Sion Blythe as pastor. For 187 years, FBC Trussville has enjoyed a rich heritage. From our first place of worship, where Hardee's now resides, until now, we have been blessed to be a people ever proclaiming Jesus as Savior while pointing the people of Trussville and surrounding communities to the God who loves them.

Affiliation
First Baptist Church Trussville is a Southern Baptist Church, part of the greater Southern Baptist Convention of churches.  Our church is classified as a global mission church which includes missions to Thailand, church building projects, the Jimmie Hale rescue mission, youth missions and missions education. In addition, a missionary house is located on campus provided for missionaries home on furlough.

Membership
Currently we have a membership of over 3,600 with an average weekly Sunday School attendance of 1,300.

Ministry
We believe that every member is a minister, given certain gifts by God to be used for His purpose.  Though we cherish our rich heritage, our focus is ever on the future as we continue to facilitate ministry programs and provide facilities to reach our community for years to come.

  The Sunday Experience
Parking
As you pull onto our campus from any entrance, you'll immediately see white signs directing you to guest parking. Parking for our membership is readily available all over campus with convenient shuttles running throughout the morning each Sunday.

Where Do I Enter?
The Worship Center is the building closest to Chalkville Road (featuring stained glass and a steeple). Entering any of the exterior doors will leave you just a few seconds away from finding a good seat in our Sanctuary.  If you are attending worship in the Annex, this is the white building on Hewitt Street.  Simply look for the blue FBCT directional signs and follow them to the Annex.

Worship Services
We offer four morning worship services, letting you worship in the way you're most comfortable.  Worship takes place in our Sanctuary and within our newest facility, the Annex.  Worship takes place simultaneously, with a message simulcast taking place between buildings.

9:15 (Traditional worship in the Sanctuary)
9:20 (Contemporary worship in the Annex)
10:45 (Blended worship in the Sanctuary)
10:50 (Contemporary worship in the Annex)

In addition, most Sundays we also have an evening worship service at 6:00 PM.

If you are visiting us, we want you to know that you are our guest.  It's our hope that you feel as comfortable as possible.  Before the service, take a copy of First Words from one of our ushers as you enter the Sanctuary.  When
the service begins, you'll enjoy the musical selections and worship that you are comfortable with as well as the down-
to-earth style of our Pastor, Buddy Champion.  You will not, however, be asked to stand, be singled out or recognized
in any way.  You're part of the family.  Just relax and enjoy the morning.

Sunday School
Sunday School (sometimes called "Bible study) takes place at 8:00, 9:15 & 10:45 AM, and is (we feel) extremely important to an individual's walk with Christ.  For a complete listing of classes, and to find the one that's right for you, visit our Sunday School pageOr for assistance, call us at 228-1006.

Childcare
We know your child's experience with us is just as important to you as your own.  Just off the Sanctuary, you'll find registration tables in the Gathering Space to help you know where to go. A representative will even take you. Your child will have a great time in our clean, convenient and safe facilities with our loving childcare workers, letting you enjoy the morning as well. Childcare is available for children six-weeks of age through age five.

Children/Students
There's always a lot going on for our children and students on Sundays.  Children's church for kids grades 1-6 is a high energy, fun time of learning, singing and Bible study, led by Children's Minister Blake Kersey and his crew.  Our students (grades 7-12) led by Jeff Gardner and Dan Strickland have Sunday School classes designed just for them during the 9:15 hour, then attend worship together at 10:45.

Fellowship Meal
Our weekly Fellowship Meal is served from 4:45-6:00 PM, featuring a delicious, affordable meal for the whole family (including a children's menu item each week..  It is served in the gym.  The cost is $4 for adults, $2 for children with a $15 limit.  To see what's cooking this Wednesday consult our monthly calendar.

Discipleship
Discipleship classes
on a wide range of topics begin at 6 PM, with preschool, children & student activities taking place at the same time.  Our students "officially" start their worship time at 6:30 PM, but the doors open at six as well.  This to give those involved with after school activities time to be a part of what's going on in the Student Ministry on Wednesday nights.  For a full list of classes currently offered, please visit the Discipleship ministry page.

Ministry of Praise
The Ministry of Praise rehearses at 6 PM as well.  Involvement in our choir and orchestra allows you to use your musical gifts in leading worship each week.
