The Media Ministry of First Baptist Church
Trussville covers a wide range of areas,
all centered on communicating the
good news of Jesus Christ in new and creative ways. These areas
include
printing and publications (primarily our worship guides and weekly
newsletter, The Link), video production and editing for worship
service and message enhancement, and the design and maintenance of the
website you're viewing right now. In addition, it also covers
worship through
the technical arts, including sound, lighting and video
production on Sundays.
The Media
Ministry is comprised of very dedicated, yet unselfish volunteers,
serving behind
the scenes for the glory of God.
Chad Summers heads up this ministry as director.
The basic hope in the Media Ministry is that
you will barely notice us; if that's the case, then we are doing our job
well. This ministry's focus is to enhance the communication of our
staff with the membership and prospects in our community, wrapping the
name and message of Christ in quality, while providing consistency in all
of our visual, audible, web and print communication. |

Serving This Sunday... |
|
| |
The Media Ministry plays an important role in
what takes place in the Sanctuary and Annex on Sundays. But the work begins
much earlier in the week through worship planning with the Pastor, worship
leaders and Ministry Team. For each service, volunteers are in place to run
the sound board, record the service, operate lighting, provide graphics and other computer generated features
for the IMAG screens and man our video cameras.
In all, it takes eleven volunteers to make our Sunday morning
services happen from the technical end of things. These
volunteers are selfless and dedicated, providing their time and
talents to the ongoing needs of our church.
Volunteers serve on a three month, rotating schedule. The
goal of the Media Ministry is to revolve personnel enough so that the
majority of the time they are able to take part in Sunday School, worship
and other "normal" aspects of Sunday morning.

Print &
Publications
The two main publications that the Media
Ministry produces is The Link Monthly and First Words, the worship guides distributed
on Sundays.
The Link Monthly is a 12-page custom newsletter,
designed each month for 12 months out of the year. Containing
helpful information and a calendar of events for the coming month, as well
as interesting features on the lives and experiences of our membership. Currently this newsletter is mailed to over 1,800 households per month.
First Words is designed each week to
accompany the coming Sunday's worship service. This worship guide
contains current information regarding the happenings at our church for
the next seven days, as well as a perforated tab letting you sign up
for coming events, request information and/or submit prayer requests
without ever having to leave their seat.
Other publications are produced as-needed for
departmental use and/or special events. The overall goal is to
package whatever we do with excellence, communicating the message in a
clear and creative way. |
